RSM bachelor students who are ambitious and are looking for another challenging way of learning from and competing with top talented students all over the world, are most welcome to apply for membership of the RSM STAR Case Club.
This case club is a flagship of STAR, the student association at RSM. It is our mission is to provide consultancy training to RSM bachelor students and win international case competitions.
We solve real-life business cases that are written by company professionals and focus on a problem that a certain organization is encountering. The topics range from finance to corporate social responsibility (CSR), and from marketing to digital innovation. Cases are typically solved in teams of 4 students, in a timeframe ranging from 3 to 48 hours, and are presented to and judged by a panel of academic staff, consultants and industry professionals. To train our members and prepare them for international case competitions, we host trainings, workshops and case-days throughout the year. Some traditional international case competitions in which RSM student teams participate in, are: CIBCC (Chulalongkorn University, Thailand), SICC (Ivey Business School, Canada), MICC (University of Southern California, US), JMUCC (Concordia University, Canada), BBA Business Challenge (IE Madrid, Spain), CECC (Corvinus University, Hungary) GBCC (University of Washington, US), and many more.
In addition, the RSM STAR Case Club organizes our annual home case competition: the RSM STAR Case Competition in Rotterdam. This is a unique opportunity for sixteen teams from top business schools worldwide to compete with each other by presenting their solutions for real-life business cases. We have welcomed many teams from our partner schools, such as: NUS (Singapore), St. Gallen University (Switzerland), Corvinus University (Hungary), HEC Montreal (Canada) Haskayne School of Business (Canada), Ivey Business School (Canada), UTS (Australia), University of Waikato (New Zealand), CUHK (Hong Kong), Thammasat University (Thailand), IE Madrid, HKUST (Hong Kong), KUBS (South Korea) and many more.
Our members benefit from being able to apply the theory they learn at RSM to practical matters. Further, they can create a unique network as they frequently get into contact with people from top-tier companies and universities. Moreover, members are selected to travel abroad for international competitions. Lastly, the case club offers an exceptional platform to meet likeminded, ambitious and curious students.
The International Relations Office works closely together with the RSM STAR Case Club.
We invite RSM students, from both BA and IBA to apply and become case analysts at the RSM STAR Case Club.
