Land degradation is a widespread problem across Europe with serious consequences for not just the environment but all of society.
The European Network for the Advancement of Business and Landscape Education (ENABLE) develops much-needed education on integrated landscape management based on sustainable business models. ENABLE is a strategic partnership of renowned partners including academic partners, private businesses, the public sector, and NGOs that is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.
ENABLE is a response from calls to action from policy makers, business leaders and universities for high quality European education on land degradation and the large-scale, multi-partner response required to counter landscape degradation.
The ENABLE consortium will develop various education tools and other means to raise a new generation of professionals equipped with the skills and knowledge required to restore landscapes and return social, cultural, and financial returns to society while doing so. Europe needs this kind of education targeted at business students and professionals to create awareness about the functioning of ecosystems and the benefits of sustainable landscape management.
