A business project prepared by MSc International Management/CEMS students of Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) in spring 2015 has won the CEMS Business Project of the Year 2015 award. The award was handed out during the CEMS graduation ceremony in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on 28 November 2015.

The CEMS Business Project is a consultancy-like project completed by international teams of between three and five business students who solve a real business problem as a one-semester part-time activity tutored by the company and a professor.

Business consultancy project

Each CEMS student has to carry out a business project during the second term, which accounts for about 50 per cent of the term 2 workload. Business projects reinforce the CEMS partnership between universities and companies in jointly shaping the students’ learning process in international management.

RSM’s award success is shared by the student team consisting of Xue Ding, Malte Jess, Wais Anwari, Fanny Emma Holgersson, and Lars Jurischka, supported by academic coach and Amsterdam Airport Schiphol operations manager Daniel van den Dries (RSM alumnus MSc BA 2005), and company coach Bart Walraven of CEMS’ business partner Cofely GDF SUEZ, which was recently renamed Engie. The project is entitled Cofely West Industries: Expansion of International Marine & Offshore Business. The CEMS award was also handed out to a project by students from the University of St.Gallen, and to a student team from Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU), chosen from 267 projects run worldwide this year.
