Exploring the interface between innovation and sustainable business with lively and expert discussion is on the agenda for the third annual RSM Sustainability Forum at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) on Friday 10 April 2015. Speakers from business, academia and society will explore the interface between innovation and sustainable business by showcasing best practices – and lively debate and discussion is encouraged.

Keynote speaker at the 2015 RSM Sustainability Forum is Dimitri de Vreeze, Chairman of the Supervisory Board at DSM, a global science-based company active in health, nutrition and materials. He has 25 years of experience in materials sciences, an important  area of innovation and sustainable business.

Socially and environmentally sustainable business models require novel business processes, models, and products. Participants in the RSM Sustainability Forum 2015 will learn about innovating for sustainable business first-hand in break-out sessions led by practitioners from a variety of international organisations. Henk Volberda, RSM Professor of Strategic Management and Business Policy, will act as moderator.

Award for Sustainability-related master thesis

A highlight of the RSM Sustainability Forum is the presentation of the KPMG-RSM Sustainability Master Thesis Award. Each year since 2006, KPMG has acknowledged the best sustainability-focused thesis written by a student from one of RSM’s MSc programmes with a cash award. This year’s short-list of five theses (written by graduates of RSM’s 2013-2014 MSc class) was picked from 59 theses with a score of 8.5 or more that concerned a sustainability issue.
