“The world is changing fast,” says Professor Nicola Kleyn, Dean of Executive Education at RSM. “To be successful that means all of us need stay ahead of that curve by developing a personal learning strategy.” She added that people need to regularly take stock by looking at what they want to achieve, questioning what they know, what they’re able to do, and how they show up at work and take steps to address any gaps. “Not all learning will happen in the form of a short course, but they’re a wonderful opportunity to extend a professional network and learn new things with people from outside of your organisation.”
Careers in motion
RSM’s 2023 portfolio offers a wide range of choices for professionals looking to keep their careers in motion for themselves, their teams, and their organisations. It enables learners to design their own learning paths that, if they choose, can culminate in an RSM diploma.
The courses and programmes for 2023 include RSM’s most popular, new and redesigned programmes. Topics specialise in general management, leadership, women and diversity, personal effectiveness, digital and date, strategy and innovation, finance and accounting, and marketing and sales.
For example, professionals in all industries van learn how to negotiate effectively, how to make strategy work, how to use storytelling for business success, and how design thinking can be used to approach innovation with flexibility and agility.
Back to the classroom
RSM’s very popular Advanced Management and Leadership Programme has been redesigned. Participants now start in a cohort and will follow the same modules at the same time to optimise their knowledge-sharing and network opportunities. The next run of this diploma programme starts in March 2023. There are also new faculty members teaching in various programmes.
Prof. Kleyn: “We’re seeing a strong growth in face-to-face programmes. We’ve all learned that while there are some things that we can best do online, there’s no substitute for the energy that comes from learning in and out of the classroom with like-minded people whether from your own organisation or others.”
All of RSM’s open programmes take place on Erasmus University’s campus in Rotterdam, but can also be delivered in-company, or as a customised version of an existing open programme, or a completely tailor-made programme, co-created with team leaders to provide teams with solution to their unique challenges.
RSM’s customised programmes offer flexible options for teams and are fully customised to an organisation’s needs, for example to support organisational change, enhance the leadership capabilities of top talents, develop managers' abilities to devise and implement their strategy, or equip its people with the skills to drive creativity and innovation.
