Nowhere in the region we find as many empty stores as in Schiedam. In 2013 a total of 6.9 percent of the stores were empty, from 6.4 percent in 2012. While at the same time, the total number of stores is decreasing. According to Cor Molenaar more and more stores will close down in the next year, due to the rise of online shops.
