Nordea's relocation of its headquarters from Stockholm to Helsinki may prove to be good for Sweden in the long run. In the event of a future financial crisis, the financial market has doubts about the Swedish state's ability to support the country's financial sector. This was even more so the case after Nordea completed the reformation of its branching structure. Overall, there is no reason for Swedish customers to flee from Nordea, says Dirk Schoenmaker, Professor of Banking and Finance at RSM.
