We live in an experience-driven economy where we no longer pay for a product or service, but the experience we get with it. To avoid draining urban centres, it is important that cities offer a total experience. Cor Molenaar (Professor of E-marketing at Erasmus RSM) gave a masterclass on Smart Cities and said that "there is a role for drivers and business owners to make their shops look nicer, otherwise town centres of medium-sized municipalities will die within a year."
