This Memorandum of Understanding aims to leverage the expertise and networks of RSM and the UN Global Compact Network NL to transform the role businesses play in addressing societal and environmental challenges. By fostering collaboration and shared learning, the partnership seeks to accelerate and amplify positive business impact through research and co-creation.
“RSM and UN Global Compact NL have a long history of collaborating and share a vision for the future – prosperous, inclusive and thriving for all,” says Professor Michel Lander, Dean of Education at RSM. “I’m proud that we consolidate this in a strategic partnership today. Transitioning to a responsible and sustainable business practice is a priority, and we hope that this partnership can contribute to this.”
Driving meaningful change
This partnership brings new opportunities for internships, involvement in the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), collaborative leadership to equip organisations with practical tools for sustainability, strengthening the Young SDG network, and advancing the Forward Faster themes by sharing RSM’s valuable research insights.
“By formalising this partnership, we aim to underscore the power of collaboration between business, academia, and civil society in achieving the SDGs. We hope this will serve as an example for others to follow, encouraging collective action to drive meaningful change,” says Merei Wagenaar, executive director of UN Global Compact NL, who completed her MBA at RSM.
The agreement was signed at SDG Action Day, the key event concluding SDG Action Week organised by SDG Nederland. SDG Action Day is dedicated to raising awareness and mobilising efforts toward the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The formalisation of this partnership underscores the vital role cross-sector collaboration plays in making real progress toward these goals.
