Dr Ting Li, Associate Professor of Information Systems and Academic Director of the MSc Business Information Management at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) was named one of the world’s 40 best business school professors under 40 by Poets&Quants, a website devoted to coverage of business schools, on 26 March 2017.

Each year Poets&Quants selects The 40 Most Outstanding MBA Professors Under 40 based on excellence and impact in research, combined with outstanding teaching prowess, according to their peers and students. Poets&Quants called RSM’s Associate Professor Ting Li “a pioneer. Her impact has reverberated in every corner of the school … her teaching has left a lasting impression on students.” Other academics on the list included professors from Harvard Business School, HEC Paris, NYU Stern, Yale School of Management, IESE Business School, Stanford GSB, and London Business School.

According to the publication, this year's group are “more than just a random collection of strong thought leaders and excellent teachers. They are a group of exceptional faculty–between the ages of 31 and 39 – whose performances as business school professors are so profound that they transcend the four walls of a classroom and permeate students’ very livelihoods.”

Ting Li

Dr Ting Li is an expert in digital strategy, e-commerce, social media analytics, mobile marketing, business analytics, online advertising, and pricing and revenue management. She is the founding member of the Erasmus Centre for Data Science and Business Analytics and has been a Visiting Professor at the Wharton School of Business, Temple University, Arizona State University, City University of Hong Kong, and Tsinghua University. Ting’s research interest focuses on the strategic use of information and its economic impacts on consumer behaviour and firm strategy. In her work she proposes new theoretical perspectives on why and how firms develop digital capabilities to improve their business capability, and how new information technologies affect consumer behaviour and decision making. Her work has been recognized with best paper awards and nominations and sponsored by multiple grants from the Dutch National Science Foundation (NWO). Ting has consulted and worked in various capacities with Shell, KPMG, PwC, Accenture, Coolblue, Wehkamp, Zelf, Tweakers, Shop2Market, Dutch Railways, RET, amongst others.
