Twenty-five student consultants and two professors from RSM will participate in the project. Student consultants will conduct company-specific desk research in the months leading up to the field project. Once in Colombia, the team will meet with local industry and government institutions to gather relevant information and contacts for participating companies, before presenting their findings and recommendations in September 2017.
Dr Marja Flory: “There is certain information that can only be acquired through contact with the local community and this is what our students can provide companies with. This initiative has some of our brightest students and demonstrates just how ambitious and globally-minded our students are. Therefore, we invite all companies interested in this region to participate.”
Why participate in ECP: Colombia?
Colombia was ranked 'Country of the year' by The Economist in 2016 and the economy has grown rapidly for many years, with a growing middle class. It is the third largest investment destination for Dutch companies in Latin America and listed as one of the “new BRIC” countries, called the CIVETS.
The Erasmus Consultancy Project is organised by students at RSM’s study association STAR and has over 30 years of experience conducting research for companies all over the world on a non-profit basis. It has been conducting general research into the Colombian market since September 2016. In the past, the ECP has conducted research in countries such as Vietnam, Brazil, South-Korea, Thailand, Chile, Malaysia and Peru.
Brightest minds at RSM
Outstanding and motivated students from RSM's master and bachelor programmes are selected for participation in the ECP project. As part of their preparation, students take part in multiple training sessions with established consultancy firms. Two RSM professors oversee the project to ensure the work is of the highest academic quality.
Companies are offered a range of consultancy services including entering strategies, market research, a value chain analysis, a competitor analysis, a feasibility analysis, and a supplier analysis. Students benefit immensely from the consulting experience this project provides.
