Professionals who work in supply chain, customs and compliance can join a free webinar on import controls, led by experts in the field, on Monday 31 October. Participants will learn the complexities when goods cross the EU border, learn how FloraHolland improved its supply chain, and learn what companies need to do to get ready.

The pressure is on in international trade. While more goods are moved with higher speed, the bar is raised for security and transparency. When goods enter the European border, stakeholders need information about matters such as EU customs law, food and product safety and plant protection. A growing number of companies have been piloting co-ordinated border control, and it will be available to all organisations in 2018. So how can professionals prepare for this, and what are the benefits?

In this webinar, professionals will learn from:

  • Edwin Wenink, supply chain manager at FloraHolland. This RSM alumnus was named Logistics Manager of the Year 2014 by the Dutch Association of Logistics Management (VLM). Wenink will discuss the issues FloraHolland faced in transporting fresh roses from Kenia to Aalsmeer. And how they achieved an impressive improvement.
  • Frank Heijmann, head of international trade relations at Customs Administration of the Netherlands, will talk about the role of customs.
  • Prof. Yao-Hua Tan, TU Delft and Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University will discuss what this means process and IT-systems.

During the free, 60-minute webinar viewers can participate and raise questions to the speakers.

The first webinar, which took place on 27 September, was a great success. Professionals explored compliance in supply chain management, and the recordings can still be viewed online.
