At a recent internship fair at RSM, second year bachelor students spoke to student ambassadors about the experience of completing an internship, as well as companies with internship positions to offer, plus student advisors, RSM Career Services and programme managers.
Internships start in August or September and extend until December for third-year students on the BSc International Business Administration (BScIBA) and BSc Business Administration / Bedrijfskunde (BScBA) programmes. The hunt starts early, and competition is intense, but friendly. In the 2015-2016 academic year more than 200 BScIBA and BScBA students have completed internships, almost twice the number of the previous year.
Most of the students attending the fair were in their second year of the BScIBA and BScBA, and are keen to find out more about internships. Being able to question companies that are actively recruiting interns as well as their peers about the experience gives them a better idea of the reality of undertaking an internship and the opportunities that it can present.
The internship fair included presentations from international and Dutch companies with internship positions to offer, and the offer of assistance with creating an effective CV from RSM’s Career Services department, as well as the opportunity to talk to student internship ambassadors. Companies present included Henkel, Bimbimbikes, Flexous BV, Kempen & Co, Van Lanschot Baniers, Rembrandt Fusies & Overnames, Duits-Nederlandse Handelskamer (DNHK), HousingAnywhere, The Blue Hour, Keytoe, NN Investment Partners, British American Tobacco, Kurtz Marketing & Management, Simon-Kucher & Partner, Easyhardware Trading, Avery Dennison, Bisner, Shell, Integrand and AIESEC.
