During the International Career Event (ICE), RSM’s international and Dutch students played corporate games, conducted speed interviews and attended the ICE Fair. The corporate games and speed interviews were organised by multinationals, including Shell, BASF, Align Technology, Triodos Bank, TK Maxx, ABN AMRO, Monsanto, and Infosys Consulting.
The International Career Event Fair, which took place at the Erasmus Paviljoen on campus, was an opportunity for international companies and students from RSM’s bachelor, master and MBA programmes to connect in an informal exhibition setting. Each company that participated in the International Career Event had a stand at the ICE Fair, including European Investment Bank, Avery Dennison, Global Collect, Rockwell Automation, Colfax, and Cargill.
“Talent of the future”
“Some of the RSM students are viable candidates for us,” said Caroline van Twisk, HR specialist at Delta Electronics. Van Twisk added that many students do not know her organisation yet, so in addition to recruitment possibilities, participating in the ICE 2015 was good for Delta Electronics’ brand exposure. “You really see the talent of the future here at Erasmus University. People are very prepared; they brought their CVs and had relevant questions for the companies they’re interested in,” she said.
Van Twisk said she took several CVs from RSM MBA students. “This is great for us, because they already have some work experience, they know what they want in terms of career development, so they are aware of what they can and cannot do and can make a better selection. Also, they have hands-on experience from their programme,” the HR specialist said.
Erasmus Recruitment Days
The next career event for companies and students to connect are the Erasmus Recruitment Days, the largest on-campus recruitment event in Europe. The Erasmus Recruitment Days take place on the Erasmus University campus in Rotterdam from 27 January until 10 February, 2016.
