Almost 20 companies flocked to Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) to present themselves at its Bachelor Internship Fair to connect with around 150 of RSM’s international and Dutch bachelor students for internships and job opportunities. The event took place on Erasmus University Rotterdam’s Woudestein campus on Friday 21 May 2015.

Students from RSM’s English-taught BSc in International Business Administration and Dutch-taught BSc in Bedrijfskunde attended the event, seeking internship placements for August 2015 until January 2016. Around 150 bachelor students from RSM chose to do an internship in 2014, instead of going on an international exchange or following a minor.

Corporate recruitment

Tessa Knijnenburg, corporate recruiter at ISM eCompany came to the Bachelor Internship Fair to find entrepreneurial, marketing-, sales- or HR-minded students to join her organisation. “A lot of our current employees are RSM alumni, and we experience every day that these people are dedicated, ambitious and open-minded,” she says. “The international mindset of RSM students and the way they develop themselves during their studies, makes them the perfect fit for our young, international and growing company.”

Representatives from 18 companies attended the Bachelor Internship Fair, including Nike, Shell, Avery Dennison, TUI Nederland, BMW and L’Oréal. They connected with RSM’s bachelor students at the exhibition stands, and there were six company presentations.

Career development

In addition to being an information and recruitment event, the Bachelor Internship Fair 2015 provided students with the opportunity to have their CVs checked, interact with other students who have completed internships, and ask RSM’s Career Services and BSc programme managers about the internship trajectory.

Companies can also post vacancies on the RSM Job Board to connect with talented young professionals. Through RSM’s career and recruitment events, students and companies can connect for internships and job opportunities.

International Career Event

RSM’s next career and recruitment event is the third annual International Career Event on Friday 6 November 2015, which is organised by RSM’s student association STAR, and RSM’s Careers, Corporate & Alumni Relations department. Company representatives can meet bachelor, master and MBA students from RSM to recruit them for internships and job vacancies.
