Parhelion’s LDG (Laser Diffraction Grating) Light Bulb was named Gold Award Winner 2015 in the category Health, Safety and Emergency Response. After three years of research and development, Parhelion launched the innovative light bulb, a continuous laser-based light with passive cooling. The LDG Light Bulb is designed for navigating through smoke, light congested areas and turbid environments that obscure visibility without the blinding fog which is common with other lights.
Parhelion
‘Laser-twins’ Jim and Richard Redpath launched Parhelion in 2012, aiming to integrate laser technologies in everyday life. Erik Wellen from RSM’s Global Executive OneMBA Class of 2005 is CCO and partner at the laser technology company, which is based in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina, USA. Wellen met the Redpath twins while working in the Middle East, where he was responsible for the sales of IT-solutions. Wellen’s expertise as a serial entrepreneur, senior market maker and branding expert contribute to the new technology company’s revenue growth.
The RSM OneMBA alumnus is a key part of the three-headed management team, as the three executives’ diversity and experience contribute to Parhelion’s global success. “Both my law degree and OneMBA degree from Rotterdam has given me great and useful insights that I can apply on a daily basis when building new businesses or taking existing business into new geographical territories," says Wellen.
