Distinguished Alumni Awards - all nominees 2024

Voting is open for the 2024 Distinguished Alumni Awards (DAA) at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM)! There are 15 nominees in three categories, working in a wide range of industries towards various goals to achieve the SDGs and to build on RSM’s growing community of students and business leaders.

The Distinguished Alumni Awards are presented annually to outstanding alumni of the school, in recognition of excellent contributions to society, business and the RSM community. Nominees for these awards are chosen from our network of more than 50,000 RSM alumni. Members of the RSM community – students, staff, faculty members and alumni – could submit nominations. Now, these members and friends of RSM can vote for the person they think most deserves to be recognised in each category. A separate panel of judges also votes for their preferred winner, with the final result based on both the jury and public vote combined.

Alumni achievement award

This award acknowledges alumni who are a force for positive change in business or society. This can be as a part of a corporate community, as an entrepreneur, or as an individual whose life mission is to improve the lives of others or to protect or improve the environment. This year’s nominees are: Shashank Batra, Raha Badinrad, Eelco Dubbeling, Fleur Oste, Yuli Kim, and Paulina Jaensch.

Alumni volunteering award

This award recognises alumni volunteers who share their time or resources to contribute to the school’s reputation, research, education, and student experience, or help promote alumni relations. This year’s nominees are: Cilia Keser, Nikitas Paraskevopoulos and Shreyak Shah.

Force for positive change award (SDG12)

RSM also grants an award to highlight the work being done by alumni in service of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Each year, a different SDG is represented. In 2024, the award acknowledges alumni who dedicate their careers to initiate and lead action to encourage more sustainable consumption and production patterns in line with SDG 12: responsible consumption and production. These alumni have been nominated for using their leadership skills and innovative approaches to solve this urgent environmental issue: Caroline Cawley, Fennie Lansbergen, Frank Holleman, Madelon de Leeuw, Joost Kamermans and Martin Kayser, and Melvin Loggies and Jasper Gabrielse.

Voting is open until 12:00 CET on Thursday 14 November 2024. You can vote here.

Previous award recipients from the RSM alumni community include Feike Sijbesma, Meiny Prins, Niels Eldering, Teodor Cătăniciu, Stef van Dongen, and Saskia Stuiveling.

RSM alumni network

RSM is more than ‘just’ a business school, it’s a network of thinkers and doers, a community built on laughter, debate, knowledge sharing and the shared belief that its people can make a difference. With a growing network of more than 50,000 alumni worldwide, RSM’s alumni community brings alumni opportunities for lifelong learning, professional development and social connections throughout their careers. Alumni include all RSM graduates, from the first post-kandidaats, IIB and Bedrijfskunde programmes in the early 1970s up to those who graduated only this year.
