On Thursday 28 September, our university and thye city of Rotterdam experienced a tremendous tragedy. The horrific news about the shootings in the Erasmus Medical Centre and a neighbourhood in the Delftshaven area was not only incredibly shocking, but also left our community with a deep sense of sadness and vulnerability. The loss of innocent lives – an EUR colleague and a mother and her daughter – has left many of us struggling to make sense of what is ultimately a senseless act of violence.
We know that some of our colleagues, students and alumni here at RSM and across the campus had connections to the victims and we want to express our sincere condolences to them and to the families and friends of the victims. We wish you all strength in the coming period and want you to know that the RSM community is here for you.
We have a strong community full of kind and supportive friends and colleagues here at RSM, which is of crucial importance in difficult and dark times like this. Please don’t be afraid to reach out if you need help now or later.
