Taking place on June 29th from 13h30 to 15h00, this free webinar will be both a standalone event and an introduction to a special edition of ECWO’s popular two-day Women in Leadership Open Programme, dedicated especially to women working in energy-related industries.
Guest speaker Liesbeth Tuininga-Muilwijk recently left her role as Global Business Controller Shell Projects & Technology, after 20 years at Shell, to co-found a utility-scale battery storage business. Vanadis Power was founded early 2020 by a small group of committed entrepreneurs with award-winning battery experience and strong track records in the energy industry.
Networking and learning from fellow participants will be facilitated by breakout sessions during which you will share your perspectives on the environment for gender balanced leadership in your organisations and industries. Finally, we’ll ask you to share your ideas on how to adapt the upcoming special energy edition of the Women in Leadership programme to meet the unique aspects of women’s leadership in energy and energy-related industries - from E & P to storage, from electricity generation/distribution to smart mobility and everything inbetween.

Alongside her work for ECWO, Grandia writes on the value and complexities of emerging smart and sustainable energy markets for policy-driven and commercial audiences on behalf of Professor Wolfgang Ketter, Director of the Institute of Energy Economics at the University of Cologne and Academic Director of the Erasmus Centre for Future Energy Business at the Rotterdam School of Management.
November’s two-day Open Programme will be based on the fundamental elements of ECWO’s Women in Leadership programme: understanding how bias operates in organisational decision making and learning how women can support themselves and each other to navigate that bias. The programme also shares practical, research-based approaches to create a more level playing field as well as a threshold for positive conversations to increase gender balance.
By building strategic, cross-industry connections and by fostering a fuller understanding of the changing energy landscape, ECWO aims to create a powerful network of women who are contributing both to more gender balance in the energy sector and to a faster, more stable progression to sustainable energy.
