The Dutch government will grant (EURO) 130 million in grants for innovation this year in priority sectors where cooperation between governments, researchers and companies is central. This is still little compared to almost (EURO) 1.8 billion granted to innovative companies in tax benefits. With all the tax benefits for innovative companies, the Netherlands has a 'very liberal' innovation policy according to Henk Volberda. "Especially when you compare our policy with that of Sweden, where only provided direct subsidies."
