The latest round of downsizing at banks and insurances ended again. Since the crisis in 2008, more than 50,000 jobs were lost in this sector, and 2020 another 25,000 jobs are expected to be lost. The statement explaining that was: Bank employees have skills that one needs anymore. In a previous layoff in ING minister Dijsselbloem explained that the way we do banking is changing rapidly through the internet. And that will cost jobs. Henk Volberda has said similar statements.
