However, study from the Rotterdam School of Management shows a major player in the oil and gas sector set up a live two-way video conferencing system to allow its off-site engineering team to see and experience any issues that happened. Unfortunately, for some of the on-site engineers this felt a bit too ‘Big Brother’ and instead of adopting the technology which was designed to make their jobs easier, they rebelled against it and began ‘accidentally’ putting their hard hats in front of the camera or simply switching it off.
