Due to new technologies a workweek is changed from a 9-5 mentality to working from home and on flexible times. Due to this new way of working it has become normal to check email while on holiday. As Henk Volberda says: ' where there is WiFi during holidays, Dutch employees continue to work". Several consequences are mentioned.
