Only 40% of The Netherlands' large corporations have a representative of the company's HR department present in that organsation's board, one of the lowest rates of HR/Board representation in Europe. Not a problem, concludes Job Hoogendoorn, over the somewhat frustrated ambitions of many HR personnel who strive for the top, as he argues that remaining outside of a company's board can often make it easier to remain independent.
