This article is about the small share of women in leading positions, which is increasing slowly. It appears that for many people it is still hard to imagine women as executives and for this reason it is difficult for them to respond appropiately when they are confronted with a female executive. A recent study by Niels van Quaquebeke and Anja Schmerling (Hamburg University) sheds light on this discriminating view.
