This article reports on a recent article in the MIT Sloan Management Review: "The Age of the Consumer-Innovator", written by Eric von Hippel, Susumu Ogawa and Jeroen P.J. de Jong. They found that consumers collectively generate massive amounts of product innovation; a wake-up call for both companies and consumers.
