Over the past decade, the number of female entrepreneurs in the Netherlands has grown by 60 percent, with a total of 700,000 women-led businesses now in the country, according to the SHE LEADS Dashboard 2023 from Erasmus University Rotterdam. However, this growth is accompanied by underrepresentation, as for every 100 male entrepreneurs, there are only 59 female entrepreneurs. Furthermore, female entrepreneurs face significant challenges in obtaining investment, with less than 3 percent of total investments going to companies led by women.
