The 31st edition of the Horticultural Entrepreneurs Award was won by JUB Holland from Noordwijkerhout. This top entrepreneur can call himself an ambassador of the horticultural sector for a year.
The theme of the award ceremony "Family businesses, the art of successful transfer" is very topical in horticulture. Prof. Pursey Heugens of RSM Erasmus University concluded with his research 'New blood, new course' that the transfer of family businesses is not easy. Heugens' advice for the transferring generation is: "Give the young people confidence and don't make them dependent on you". For the adopting generation, Heugens has the advice: "Keep investing, do not postpone necessary investments".
