McKinsey is in advanced talks with attorney generals of several
US states to settle for hundreds of millions of dollars. This is the result of giving advice to pharmaceutical companies that become are held responsible for the opiate crisis in the US. According to insiders, McKinsey will not admit their faults and is only negotiating about details. Associate professor and consultancy expert Marc Baaij thinks it is peculiar that the consultancy firm is held responsible for the advice that they gave. The roles are usually completely separate, the client officially makes the decision.
