Mayor Niek Meijer digitally opened the National Year of Voluntary Deployment in Huizen yesterday in the presence of alderman Maarten Hoelscher and many volunteers.
He did this during a webinar by Lucas Meijs, professor of Strategic Philanthropy and Volunteering at the RSM of Erasmus University. He is a former resident of Huizen as he grew up there. He left the village to study and left it again for a new job.
