Raboband article about the popularity of volunteering. Volunteering is just as popular as it used to be. People do state different demands on the voluntary work they do. The article is a conversation with three experts about the changes in the world and its effects on the voluntary commitment of people. "Individualization has hardly any influence."

According to Lucas Meijs, professor of Strategic Philanthropy and Volunteering at RSM, is volunteering a reward structure. People do work that they enjoy so much that they don't have to pay for it. ”Individualization hardly influences this. The way the volunteer work is organized does, says Meijs. "Everyone has a mobile phone and computer, we change jobs more often, are higher educated and empowered. ” And yes, this results in higher expectations of the voluntary work and the contribution they want to make.
