The Netherlands is one of the six most competitive countries in the world. The Netherlands is dynamic, has an efficient government and reliable institutions and an excellent infra- structure. In a number of areas where The Netherlands scores high, the US scores significantly lower. "In many respects, the Netherlands and the US are each other's mirror image," says Henk Volbeda of RSM, who was in charge of the Dutch part of the research that was provided by the Erasmus Center for Business Innovation.
