The Netherlands was not categorised in the top 5 most competitive economies in the world this year, as reported by the World Economic Forum. Last year, The Netherlands ranked 4th place. However, Professor Henk Volberda of RSM warns that all sorts of 'disruptive technologies' are approaching that may turn the economy upside down: from artificial intelligence to genetic engineering. The Dutch Cabinet should invest more in this, he believes, so that the Netherlands is leading the way.
