The Netherlands is the most competitive economy in the European Union for the second year in a row, according to research by the World Economic Forum (WEF). Good infrastructure and strong innovation power allowed the Netherlands outcompete its great German neighbour. "The Netherlands has the best harbour infrastructure in the world," said Henk Volberda, who was involved in the research.
