The Netherlands is for the second year running the most competitive economy in the European Union. Twente, Eindhoven and Amsterdam, in their strong development as regional innovative hotspots in the Netherlands, together with the Dutch top sector policy contribute to an exceptionally innovative ecosystem. Henk Volberda led the data collection for the Netherlands for the Global Competitiveness Index released by the World Economic Forum (WEF).
