The Netherlands is the most competitive economy of the European Union for the second year in a row, according to research done by the World Economic Forum (WEF). A good infrastructure and strong innovation force makes the Netherlands top its great neighbour, Germany. "The Netherlands has the best harbour infrastructure in the world," says Henk Volberda, who was involved in the research. "In a densely populated trading country like the Netherlands, quality infrastructure is essential to stay competitive."
