The programme is organized in 8 residential modules, consisting of 3-5 consecutive days each. This setup makes it perfect also for participants residing outside the Netherlands, as they only have to travel a limited number of times to Rotterdam. The 4 mandatory modules in year 1 take place every 2-3 months. 

The programme fee is € 10,000 per year for the first two years, €7,000 per year for years 3 and 4, and €6,000 for each subsequent year, up to a maximum of €46,000.

If you have a personal contact with a professor, you may contact them directly to see whether they are interested in your project and/or acting as a supervisor for your project. If you don’t have a connection yet, we advise you to contact a Professor or a Associate professor (within you are of interest), sending “they”/them a small Research proposal and see what happens. In case you don’t have a connection, that will be done, in case you are accepted in the PT PhD Program.

No, unfortunately this is not possible. The two PhD programmes are organized separately and each has their own admissions and selection criteria and procedures. If you wish to continue your PhD studies full-time, you need to formally apply for the full-time PhD programme separately and start the admissions and selection process from scratch.

For the 2024 cohort we aim to have approximately 15/20 candidates. Our acceptance number depends on the number of supervisors available.

We are sorry, but if you missed the deadline you will need to wait to apply next year. 

If you already obtained a PhD degree, or in the process of obtaining such a degree elsewhere, you cannot be admitted to the PhD program or promotion at Erasmus University Rotterdam, unless a second PhD is in a significantly different scientific discipline, an exception must be requested from the Doctorate Board. 

Secondary education diploma holders who already have the required level of English do not have to take an additional English language test. If your English grade does not fully meet the minimum grade requirement, you can opt to compensate your lower grade by taking an English language test (IELTS, TOEFL or Cambridge). If you pass one of these tests with the required scores, you have fulfilled the English language requirement. A pre-defined number of foreign diplomas meet this requirement, see the selection criteria per diploma).Keep in mind that successfully passing the English test or meeting the English requirement does not guarantee a spot. 

You will receive a confirmation e-mail after you have submitted your application in OLAF. Within approximately two weeks of submitting your application you will receive an update regarding the documents (this will take longer if you submit your application close to the deadline). If vital information is missing from the application, the evaluation will not continue until you have submitted additional documents. The additional documents must be submitted by 31 January.

If you submit your application close to the application deadline, we will not be able to check it before the application closes. In that case, it will be assessed using the documents submitted before the deadline. It is therefore of vital importance that you carefully read the instructions provided and submit all necessary documents.

You will remain on the waiting list for the IBA programme as long as you do not withdraw your registration in studielink. If you withdraw your registration for IBA, your rank number will be passed over by Studielink and you will not be offered a place in the programme even if your number is called.

You can accept an offer of admission for another numerus fixus programme in the Netherlands and stay on the waiting list for IBA. However, you have to actively choose this option in Studielink! When accepting the offer for the other programme, Studielink will ask if you want to remain on the waiting list for IBA. You have to answer YES to this question, otherwise you will lose your place on the waiting list. Once your place on the waiting list has been rejected we cannot do anything to rectify the situation, so make sure you choose correctly.

This is a difficult question to answer and the exact rank number that called from the waiting list will differ per year. In the previous three years numbers in the 900’s were eventually called from the waiting list. We advise you to remain on the IBA waiting list until you are sure that you are no longer interested in accepting an offer even if your number is called from the waiting list. Vacant spots in the programme will be filled between 15 April and 7 August. If you want to be considered for a place you must remain registered in Studielink. Withdrawing your registration in Studielink means that the number will be passed over and given to the next candidate.

It is possible to request admission to another MSc programme at RSM until 15 August if the programme still has spots available. You can submit a request using the contact form.

It is not possible to change programmes after this date.

In order to ensure that we receive your application in good order, make sure to use your own (unique) e-mail address. Avoid using your current school email as this may be blocked once you have graduated from school and we will not be able to contact you, and you might miss important information. Also, try not to use your parents' e-mail, particularly if the e-mail was previously used for another sibling applying to IBA. If you are using an agent to submit your application on your behalf, we strongly recommend that the agent uses your e-mail address. Agents often send applications for multiple students using the same e-mail address for all applicants. Our internal system does not recognise students with the same e-mail address and your application will therefore not be processed properly.

You can change your e-mail address in Studielink but make sure to also notify the RSM Admissions Office via our contact form if your e-mail address changes.

From the moment that the place is offered, you will have 14 days to accept it. You will receive a reminder from Studielink after 7 days. If you have not accepted your offer within 14 days, it expires and will be automatically offered to another student on the waiting list. The last ranknumber will be issued on the 7th of August. After that date, Studielink will stop sending new offers from the waiting list if a student declines their offer of admission.

You are considered a native speaker if you have completed your secondary or higher education in this language. For example if you have completed your high school in the Netherlands and the main language of teaching was Dutch, you can submit your high school diploma as proof. 

The GMAT exam consists of 4 parts: quantitative, verbal, analytical writing assessment and integrated reasoning. RSM does not require you to complete the analytical writing assessment nor the integrated reasoning part as these parts do not contribute to your overall score.

The  IBA programme does not offer direct admittance to a higher year. If you started your studies elsewhere and you want to complete your bachelor at Rotterdam School of Management, you must apply as a first year student. If you are selected, you formally start in the first year of the programme. Exemption requests for overlapping courses are only handled once you're enrolled into the programme and can only be submitted at the start of the academic year. We cannot guarantee that your request(s) will be granted as the decision will be made by the RSM Examination Board. 

For the application season 2021 (starting in October 2020) RSM has obtained 10 GMAT fee waivers. These are given to eligible applicants on request and of first come first served basis. Candidates must provide the fee waiver code when they register for their GMAT appointment. In order to apply for the GMAT waiver complete the following steps:

1. Write a brief motivation statement explaining why you think you should be granted a GMAT waiver.
2. Upload the motivation statement to the online application form (OLAF) instead of a GMAT score.
3. Complete and submit your application.
4. RSM will evaluate your application. If you are eligible for admission, there are still waivers left and there is enough time to take the exam before the application deadline of the programme you are applying to, we will send you a waiver.

If your school does not have a student/college counsellor, please provide the name of a school representative (e.g. a teacher, dean or principal) whom we can contact in case we need additional information about your education or academic performance.
