Diploma name

  • Diplomas not listed on the website will be evaluated on an individual basis. Admissibility can only be determined after you have submitted a complete applicationApplicants are recommended to provide their diploma (if available), academic transcripts with a diploma supplement explaining your country's grading system. In most cases the following additional exams are required:

  • mathematics exam
  • English language test

Fulfilling the additional exam requirements doesn't automatically guarantee you a spot, as this also relies on your diploma level and the quality of other applicants. A highly competitive pool of applicants might reduce your chances of being selected.

For applicants in the final year of high school:

  • Your Grade Average will be calculated based on the grades of your penultimate year (the year before your final year).

For graduated applicants:

  • Your Grade Average will be calculated based on the average of both your final school year results and/or national exams grades.

Additional requirements

  • You must include the RSM diploma statement in your application. This statement must be filled in by your school counselor or school representative. If you have already graduated at the time of applying, the statement is not required.

  • In the application, you must submit official grade lists signed by your mentor or school representative. Screenshots or self-made Word/Excel documents with your grades will not be accepted. Ensure that RSM can clearly understand how the grades were determined if your school uses a different grading system or calculations.

Applicants with an insufficient level of mathematics or an insufficient grade must take the IBA mathematics exam in order to qualify for the programme. You can determine whether or not you need to take an exam by looking at the information listed for your diploma on our website. Do not wait for the admissions office to tell you whether or not an exam is needed.

We advise applicants to schedule the test on time, as the results must be handed in by the 1st of April at the latest. Scores received after the 1st of April will not be accepted.

It is your own responsibility to register for the exam. The costs of the exam are not covered by RSM. Keep in mind that a sufficient result does not guarantee a spot in the programme. It is simply a tool to make up for any deficiencies in your mathematics level or grades.

As of 1 October 2016 RSM’s Bachelor of International Business Administration (IBA) programme is classified as Numerus Fixus programme. This means that there are only a limited number of places available in the programme and that the selection should be done according to the guidelines outlined by the Dutch government. For the IBA programme these changes mean:

  • Fixed date admission. Applications will be evaluated upon submission. Applicants who meet the minimum entry requirements will be added to the IBA ranking. The first 750 candidates will be offered admission to the programme on 15 April (see "Ranking Applicant 1 April - 14 April"). All other eligible applicants will be put on a waiting list.
  • Early deadlines. The ultimate deadline for registering for a numerus fixus programme in the Dutch national student registration system Studielink is 15 January. The Dutch government has determined this deadline and exceptions are not possible.
  • Fixed number of spots in the programme is set at 750 for the academic year 2022-2023

The Blackboard pages for the upcoming academic year are typically available at the end of July. Course coordinators are asked to update their Blackboard pages at their earliest convenience, and their Blackboard pages should be updated two weeks before the start of the trimester at the latest.

Students are granted access to Blackboard pages through subscription to the courses via Osiris (with the exception of the RSM Minors, for which Blackboard access is granted via Programme Management).

If you or one of your colleagues is unable to access your particular Blackboard course please contact your Programme Manager or send a mail to bb-portal@rsm.nl

A basic Blackboard manual can be found here

Student Representation has provided feedback regarding the (from students’ perspective) desired organisation of course Blackboard pages. The SR’s proposal (which coordinators are recommended but not required to follow):

Standardize the left panel of all courses into the following categories: Information, Content, Assignment and Discussion.

-  Place the staff information, course manual and other introductory materials to the course in the Information folder.

-  Place materials related to lectures, workshops and other seminars in the Content folder, which might further contain several subfolders.

-  Place any information regarding the assignments in the Assignment folder

Please note: As a rule, grades should not be published via Blackboard.  Grade files can be sent to Programme Management, who will ensure that students receive their partial and overall grades via SIN-Online.

The 2021-2022 tuition fee for the MSc programmes is approximately €18,700 per year. The Dutch government contributes towards this cost for students who hold nationality from a country belonging to the European Economic Area (EEA). These students therefore pay only the statutory fee of €2,168 per year. Please note that tuition fees are subject to change.

Students who are enrolled in the 18-month MSc International Management/CEMS programme will pay tuition for the months they are enrolled. The expected tuition fee for this programme is €28,050 for non-EEA students and €3,252 for EEA students.

For EEA nationals who have already completed a master in the Netherlands (and obtained the diploma) the tuition fee for a 2nd master is €12,000.

Countries in the European Economic Area: - Austria - Hungary - Poland - Belgium - Iceland - Portugal - Bulgaria - Ireland - Romania - Cyprus - Italy - Slovak Republic - Czech Republic - Latvia - Slovenia - Denmark - Liechtenstein - Spain - Estonia - Lithuania - Sweden - Finland - Luxembourg - Switzerland - France - Malta - United Kingdom - Germany - Netherlands - Greece - Norway - Croatia

English language requirement

Selection points

You will be granted selection points if you have a Grade Average of 3 (dobry) or higher. If your grades are below this, you will not earn selection points for your final ranking

For applicants in the final year of high school:

  • Your Grade Average will be calculated based on the grades of your penultimate year (the year before your final year).

For graduated applicants:

  • Your Grade Average will be calculated based on the grades achieved during your final year and national or state exams.

For the academic year 2017-2018, Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) will grant two to three partial scholarships, depending on the quality of the applicants, through the Orange Tulip Scholarship Programme (OTS) of NESO- Indonesia, for all MSc programmes excluding the MSc International Management/CEMS programme and the MSc Finance & Investments – Advanced programme. The value of the partial scholarship is between 30-70% of the tuition fee for non-EEA students.

To apply for the Orange Tulip Scholarship, Indonesia students must:

1. Have an outstanding academic record.

2. Submit their application for the OTS to NESO-Indonesia. The procedure for this can be found through the NESO-Indonesia web site

3. Submit their application for one of the RSM Master programmes (excluding MScIM/CEMS and MScFI Advanced) before 1 March 2017. In order to be considered for an OTS scholarship, applicants need to meet all MSc. admission requirements and be in the possession of an unconditional offer letter. Information about the entry requirements and application process can be found by visiting www.rsm.nl/masteradmissions

This scholarship is meant for prospective students only, thus, this scholarship is NOT meant for currently enrolled RSM and EUR students. The scholarship is granted for the first 12 months of the MSc programme. If you apply for the MScBA in Master in Management programme, the regular tuition fee for non-EEA Master students apply for the remaining months of the programme. Students should be aware that they will need to have sufficient means to cover the study costs of those remaining months.

By accepting this scholarship you agree to assist the RSM Recruitment and Admissions Office as an Ambassador with promotional and support activities for approximately 8 hours per month during the academic year.

Please note that we can only take a scholarship application into consideration if it is complete and meets all of the requirements, including a scholarship application letter and minimum GMAT test score of 600.
