There are a number of (typically student-run) organisations that organise examination-prep and crash-courses, distribute readers, and make a profit by charging students fees for their services. We do not promote these organisations in our communication with students, and we simply ask that teaching staff members be aware of their existence and alert to any (mis)use of materials (such as old examinations that are used as practice materials, lecture slides taken from Blackboard and distributed during these courses or recopied in readers, etc.). Some organisations have been reprimanded in the past for illegal use of the RSM logo or illegal reproduction of lecture slides and other copyrighted materials. If you think that an organisation or company is making illegal use of your materials please contact Programme Management.

Studielink is a national web-based registration database in the Netherlands used for the enrolment of students. Studielink can also be used for organising your registration, payment of tuition fees, signing out and changing your correspondence address. For questions regarding the Studielink application (e.g. logging in, password, how to use Studielink), please contact the Erasmus Student Service Centre.

The first step in the IBA application process is to register in Studielink.

  1. Access https://www.studielink.nl/ and register before 15th January 2022. When you are a resident of the Netherlands, you can only submit an enrolment application if you use DigiD.  Apply on time for your DigiD as it takes approximately five days to receive your DigiD login details.
  2. Enter your previous education.
  3. Select Erasmus Universiteit, enter ‘Bachelor International Business Administration (English) (numerus fixus)’, start as ‘first-year’, starting date: '1 September 2022'. DO NOT SELECT 'ADVANCED YEAR'! Even if you have completed your first year elsewhere, you must select 'first-year'.
  4. You can ignore the emails asking to send your diploma or a copy of your passport / ID to education institution. Instead you will upload these documents to the RSM Online Application Form (OLAF).

For Numerus Fixus studies such as IBA at RSM, Studielink opens on the 1 October and closes on 15 January at 23:59 CET (Central European Time). This is not the actual application! Only once you have completed the 2nd step of the process, the  RSM Online Application Form (OLAF), you will be considered an applicant.

Students from the IBA programme are advised (via the IBA Current Students site) to consult the following page for information about how to cite resources: https://www.eur.nl/ub_informatievaardigheden/ul_instruction/verwijzen_en_citeren/

There is also a PDF available which outlines the EUR policies regarding fraud and plagiarism: https://www.eur.nl/fileadmin/ASSETS/ieb/Cheating_Plagiarism_01.pdf

The library has also created a number of E-courses:

Via the button ‘Information skills modules’ on our Training & Support portal you will find an overview of all modules, ordered per theme (pillar). Here you can also find a short explanation on the Why & How of these modules. For your benefit, we have indicated which modules contain videos and/or e-exercises.

The modules can also be found via the search page of the Training & Support portal. You – and of course the individual students – can use that to search for exactly those modules that you find relevant. It is possible to filter our full offer of training & support materials (the University Library offers many other kinds of support besides information skills support) to find the e-learning materials aimed at Bachelor and Master education.

The search result you will not only give you the new e-modules, but also existing e-courses. The new e-modules are recognizable by their round-shaped pillar icon (thumbnail), the same ones as can be seen in the overview page.

It is of course also possible to perform a free text search to find exactly the topic your students need (extra) training in.

1. In brief

For the academic year 2017-2018, Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) will grant several partial scholarships, depending on the quality of the applicants, for selected students from non-EEA countries who are not entitled to pay the EEA tuition fee and whose grades in their previous programmes are considered ‘excellent’. The value of the partial scholarship is between 30-70% of the full non-EEA tuition feeThis scholarship is meant for prospective students only (thus, this scholarship is not meant for currently enrolled RSM and EUR students), excluding HBO pre-master students.

2. For whom?

Prospective students (thus, this scholarship is not meant for currently enrolled RSM and EUR students) of the following MSc programmes can apply:

In principle, a fair distribution of scholarships over the various MSc programmes will take place. This principle may be deviated from and priority may be given to applicants for certain MSc programmes.

Application for the scholarship is open for prospective MSc students, starting their studies in the academic year 2017/2018, from all non-EEA countries, provided they would be charged the non-EEA tuition fee.

The school may give preference to students with one of the following nationalities:

  • Brazilian
  • Russian
  • Indian
  • Chinese
  • Taiwanese/Korean/Filipino
  • Indonesian/Vietnamese/Thai
  • Iranian/Iraqi
  • Azerbaijani/Georgian
  • Turkish
  • African (all countries)
  • Mexican

Additionally, the school may strive for a certain distribution over the continents.

Applicants cannot be recipients of any other scholarships exceeding the amount of 5.000 euro in total in that same academic year.

3. For which year?

The scholarship will be awarded for one academic year (12 months).

For the remaining months of the MSc International Management-CEMS programme (18 months) and the MScBA Master in Management programme (16 months) the regular tuition fee apply for non-EEA Master students. Students should be aware that they will need to have sufficient means to cover the study costs of the remaining programme.

4. Excellence

Excellence for applicants with a Bachelor of Science from Dutch universities is proven if the average grade over the entire programme at the time of application is at least 8.0/10.

Additionally, a GMAT score of at least 700 is required – also for applicants from schools and/or programmes exempt for GMAT for admission.

Excellence for applicants with a Bachelor of Science from non-Dutch universities is proven if the average grade over the entire programme at the time of application is at least the equivalent of the Dutch grade of 8.0 on the Dutch grading scale 1 – 10.

The Scholarship Committee will decide on the local grade equivalents for the Dutch grade of 8.0 using the grade information included in (a.o.) the Nuffic country modules.

Additionally, a GMAT score of at least 700 is required – also for applicants from schools and/or programmes exempt for GMAT for admission.

Please note that we can only take a scholarship application into consideration if it is complete and meets all of the requirements. This includes a minimum GMAT test score of 700.

5. When to apply?

Applicants for MSc (except for the MSc International Management-CEMS) can apply for the scholarship any moment between 15 October 2016 and 1 March 2017.

Applicants for the MSc International Management-CEMS can apply for the scholarships any moment between 15 October 2016 and 31 January 2017.

6. Application procedure

When applying for the Master programme in the online application form (OLAF) you will be asked to upload documents which will be used for evaluating your application. During this process you can also upload your scholarship application letter. The application letter should include the following information;

  • an explanation why you would need a scholarship, comprising a description of the students financial situation
  • an explanation why you would deserve a scholarship, comprising a description of academic excellence and if applicable other merits
  • if applicable: scanned copies of other scholarships granted (later on you will be asked to provide a certified copy)
  • a signed statement indicating that other scholarships awarded do not exceed the amount of 5.000 euro in total
  • scanned copies of the grade list to date, as available at the moment of application (normally already part of your application package). Later on in the process  you will be asked to provide a certified copy

Please note that we can only take a scholarship application into consideration if it is complete and meets all of the requirements. This includes a scholarship application letter.

7. How does it work?

For the academic year 2017-2018, Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) will grant two to three partial scholarships, depending on the quality of the applicants. The value of the partial scholarship is between 30-70% of the full non-EEA tuition fee.

The scholarship takes the form of a waiver being the amount of money that will be subtracted from the full non-EEA tuition fee (€ 17,300).

The student will receive the scholarship for one academic year. The non-EEA tuition fee for non-EEA Master students will apply for the remaining period of study.

For the scholarship, no actual transmission of money takes place.

The scholarship part of the non-EEA tuition fee will be subtracted from the full non-EEA tuition fee before the start of the academic year, enabling the beholder to immediately pay the reduced tuition fee; either at once or in instalments.

By accepting this scholarship you agree to assist the RSM Recruitment and Admissions Office as an Ambassador with promotional and support activities for approximately 8 hours per month during the academic year.

8. Decisions

The decisions on the award of the scholarship will be made by the RSM Scholarship Committee. This scholarship committee will determine award recipient(s) on 15 April 2017.

9. Information

The RSM Scholarship Committee can be contacted through our contact form: www.rsm.nl/contactmsc

The most recent version of the BSc Internship Manual (used by both BSc BA and IBA students and coordinators) can be found via the following current students pages:

BSc IBA: https://www.rsm.nl/bachelor/current-students/bachelor-iba/bachelor-3/internships/

BSc BA: https://www.rsm.nl/bachelor/current-students/bachelor-ba/bachelor-3/stage/

A few important points for academic coaches for the BSc Internships to consider:

  • Students are required to turn in a 2-page internship proposal to their academic coach.  The compulsory elements that you should look for in this proposal are detailed in the manual, and students should use the proposal format provided in the manual (Appendix 2). The proposal should be turned in (and approved) prior to the start of the internship.
  • Upon completion of the internship, students need to receive a Company Evaluation Form (Appendix 3) from their company coach.  Students are required to turn this completed form in to their academic coach, and the evaluation results should be taken into account when determining the student’s final grade.
  • An internship assessment diagram is included in the manual.  Please refer to this matrix when grading a student’s internship report!
  • Students have 4 weeks upon completion of their internship to complete and hand in their report (together with their Company Evaluation Form).  The student’s academic coach has 4 weeks time to determine the student’s Bachelor Internship grade.  The grade should be submitted via email to e.rsm@oos.eur.nl  and also as a signed letter sent to the department of Exam Administration, room EB-29.

All applicants who have earned their diploma outside of the Netherlands, pay a handling fee of €100 upon submitting their application. The Online Application Form will automatically determine whether you are required to pay the fee or not. This fee can be paid online using the Erasmus Payment System. This system offers applicants the possibility to pay using either iDEAL (for those with a Dutch bank account) or PayPal (which can be linked to any bank account or credit card worldwide). It is important that applicants complete the payment process as indicated, otherwise the system cannot register the payment. The fee is non-refundable. Applications without successful payment of the fee cannot be submitted and will therefore not be processed.

We strongly advise you not to submit your application at the last minute! Paying the handeling fee is not always instant. Do not miss the deadline because your payment was not processed on time!
