You can submit an application first and send in the result of your English language test and/or mathematics exam later. Both test results must be received by the RSM Admissions Office no later than 1 April. When scheduling a test date keep in mind that it can take several weeks to receive your test score. Plan ahead!  It is your own responsibility to schedule the exam(s) on time.

A sufficient result of a Mathematics test and/or English test does not guarantee a spot in the programme. They are simply tools to make up for any deficiencies in your Mathematics/English level or grades.

Note: Apart from the English language test result and the mathematics exam result, all other supporting documents must be included in your application and this must be submitted in OLAF no later than 31st January.

Rankings are a good step as first step to decide which schools enjoy global recognition and are considered important players in business education. It is important to look at various rankings (there are a lot out there!), and to make sure you understand the criteria and weightings - this is normally publicly available. It is then important to also look at accreditations to make sure the schools you are targeting adhere to certain global quality standards as set by international accreditation bodies.

Rankings serve as an initial gauge to identify institutions with global recognition and prominence in business education. While considering rankings, it's crucial to explore various sources (given the abundance available) and understand their specific criteria and weightings, usually accessible publicly. Additionally, assessing accreditations is vital to ensure that targeted schools meet global quality standards set by international accreditation bodies. For a comprehensive list of our rankings, please visit: https://www.rsm.nl/about-rsm/facts-and-figures/rankings/

RSM accepts English course/test results at C1 level (CEFR) taken at any accredited university of applied science or research university within the EU/EEA. All aspects of the language must have been included in the test (reading, writing, listening and speaking skills).

You must be able to provide proof of this in your application. Accepted forms of proof are:

  • a course certificate clearly indicating the the obtained level
  • an official statement, filled in and signed by your university (you can also have your university fill in the RSM provided English Proficiency form)

NOTE: Online tests, such as the OLS (Online Linguistics Support for Erasmus+) or Oxford Online Placement test are not accepted.

The Language & Training Centre (LTC) of Erasmus University, Rotterdam offers intake tests throughout the year, which will determine your current level of proficiency, as well as English courses from September onwards.

Current RSM BA students are strongly recommended to consider the BA English courses in trimester 7 as this option is (eventually) free of charge.

The accepted RSM courses are:

  • Language course English level C1.1 (BKB1035-C)
  • English business speaking and writing skills (BKB1035-D)

No. Students from Research Universities and Universities of Applied Science must meet the GPA requirements. From October 2020 onwards GMAT can no longer be used to compensate for an insufficient GPA. This is due to strict guidelines set by the Dutch government in regards to use of standardized tests in the admissions process.

Applicants who meet the minimum requirements but are not selected for the IM/CEMS programme, will be offered alternative admission to our other MSc programmes. This means you don't need to submit a new application. Instead you'll be given a list of the available programmes to choose from.

Please note that it's only possible to receive an offer of admission to programmes which still have spots available. Some programmes may have reached maximum capacity by the time the CEMS results are available.

In general, we select the scholarship recipients based on merits (like GPA/gmat) and financial need.

Academic excellence for applicants with a Bachelor of Science from non-Dutch universities is proven if the average grade over the entire programme at the time of application is at least the equivalent of the Dutch grade of 8.0 on the Dutch grading scale 1 – 10. The Scholarship Committee will decide on the local grade equivalents for the Dutch grade of 8.0 using the grade information included in (a.o.) the Nuffic country modules. Additionally, a GMAT score of at least 700 is required.

Besides, you have to be aware that you will have to agree on a few general criteria before you applying for a scholarship:

  • Only students who are not recipients of any other scholarships exceeding the amount of € 5,000 in total in that same academic year can apply for the scholarship;
  • By accepting this scholarship you agree to assist the RSM Recruitment and Admissions Office in the role of an Ambassador with promotional and support activities for approximately 8 hours per month during the academic year;
  • By accepting this scholarship you agree to start your visa procedure before 1 June 2022. RSM holds the right to cancel your scholarship if you have not started your visa procedure and holds the right to offer the scholarship to a student on the scholarship waiting list.
