The STAR Board is responsible for heading the association on a daily basis. Together with more than 270 active members, they are responsible for organizing around 57 projects each year. Well known examples of projects are the STAR Management Week, Erasmus Consultancy Project, and the Erasmus Recruitment Days.

Besides being active in the social and professional development of its members STAR, as the faculty association of Rotterdam School of Management, is academically involved as well. In general: they are open to any idea you as a professor might have, as long as it fits within the mission of their association: 'enrich RSM student life'.STAR have been doing this via their booksale throughout the last years: where professors hand them the title of relevant literature and STAR take care of everything else.

STAR organize academically relevant activities such as the BSc- and MSc Accountancy Day, in relation to the course Financial Accounting (BSc). In the past they have also arranged speakers for guest lectures, although this has proven to be difficult in relation to more detailed topics, please don't hesitate to contact them.

In short STAR..

.. provides relevant literature/books to students

.. supports/organizes academically relevant events

.. helps finding guest lectures

.. provides feedback from students to professors (primarily for MSc courses)

.. is, most importantly, open to any ideas from teaching staff

The SR (Student Representation) representatives will contact the course coordinator at some point during the first half of the trimester to schedule a mid-term meeting.  Although the SR works independently and is entirely student-run, Programme Management takes the SR reports into consideration when evaluating courses and we encourage you to meet with the course representatives on at least one occasion.

Students have the right (according to the official Examination Regulations) to peruse their own examination answer sheet within the first 3 weeks after the exam took place.  The way in which the coordinator chooses to accommodate this ‘perusal’ is up to him or her. The following points are important to consider:

  • Students have the right to look at their own examinations with the exception of MC answer forms filled in with a pencil.  The MC forms filled in with a pencil should be copied and only the copy of the form may be given to a student.
  • Students may ask questions related to the way in which their grade was calculated. These questions can either be posed orally or in written form via email. Many professors instruct students who attend the perusal to fill in a sheet of paper with their name, student number, and their specific question (or complaint). These papers are collected at the end of the perusal and the professor can use the time after the perusal to review the questions /feedback and either respond to students individually or via a general message on Blackboard.

An examination perusal should be organized shortly after the preliminary exam results have been published via SIN-Online.  The exact date and time of the perusal, if a plenary format is chosen, should be planned together with programme management to ensure that the perusal doesn’t overlap with any other scheduled activities of which the professor may not be aware. The programme manager can reserve a room for the perusal and communicate the date and time to students via SIN-Online. The programme manager can also set up registration for the perusal, which will enable the coordinator to prepare copies of the registered students’ exams before the start of the perusal.

In the event that grades need to be adjusted after a perusal then the revised grades can be sent to programme management, who will then post the revisions on SIN-Online (only the students with a changed grade will receive a new grade this way). The perusal should be planned well in advance of the submission deadline for the final grades, in order to allow time to review the feedback given during the perusal and adjust the grades when necessary.

We will consider your highest score during the evaluation process. Please keep in mind we will accept a GMAT score within 5 years of taking the exam but it must be a valid score when you start the MBA course, not only valid at the time of applying.

Professors are required by the Examination Board to have their examinations checked by a peer for possible errors or oversights.

In addition to the peer review, it is strongly advised that all teaching staff members review their exams thoroughly for any grammatical / typographical errors before turning them in to be copied.  Non-native English speakers teaching in the IBA programme (or non-native Dutch speakers teaching in the BA programme) are also welcome to request a language check, which can be organized with a professional translator.

In the event that you need to reschedule or cancel a lecture you are kindly asked to inform your Programme Manager. If a lecture or workshop needs to be rescheduled then the Programme Manager can help determine what a possible alternative may be in terms of the availability of both the students and the facilities on campus, and can return the room that was reserved according to the original schedule. The Programme Manager will also make the necessary updates in the students’ schedule. Typically a message on SIN-Online is posted if a class is cancelled or rescheduled, unless the cancellation is for a class scheduled for the same day. In that case, Programme Management can also choose to send students an SMS message with a notification of the cancellation. Once a cancellation notification is posted on SIN-Online, a link to the message will be sent to the course coordinator, who can then decide if he would like to post the same text on the course’s Blackboard channel.

Normally the admissions process can take 4 – 6 weeks but if needed it can be done quicker. It all depends on your schedule and that of your interviewer.

Yes, you can submit your application without a GMAT or GRE score for initial evaluation. However, to proceed with further stages of the application process, such as the online KIRA Talent Assessment and potentially an admissions interview, you'll need to provide a valid score report. Additionally, you'll be required to submit an official score report using one of the following school codes:

GMAT code: QK8-CX-30

GRE code: 0798

Alternatively, if eligible, you may choose to take the RSM Business Admissions Test (BAT). For more information, please visit https://www.rsm.nl/education/mba/international-full-time-mba/admissions/bat/

Generally, it's not mandatory; it's an optional requirement. However, you're welcome to include your TOEFL or IELTS scores with your application to strengthen it. Please note that we retain the right to request proof of English proficiency at any stage of the application process if further verification of your language abilities is deemed necessary.

There is a rolling admissions process for most MSc programmes*.This means that complete applications will be reviewed upon receiving them.

If you apply between October and December, you will most likely receive your results within 4-6 weeks after applying. When applying between January and May, the evaluation may take up to 10 weeks. If you have not heard the results within this time, don't hesitate to contact us.

Our goal is to generally complete all evaluations by the end of June.

Priority may be given to certain groups, such as the NON-EEA nationalities due to immigration policies.

*There is no rolling admission process for the MSc International Management/CEMS programme. Applicants will be notified after the application deadlines about the next selection round.

Except for one elective, your entire Master has to be completed, including the approval and defense of your Master Thesis Trajectory prior to exchange!

If you do not meet the thesis deadline (June 15), you need to take the thesis resit by August 15.

Be aware that your thesis resit needs to be approved and defended BEFORE you start your exchange at one of the partner universities. Otherwise, your exchange will be cancelled!

If courses are not definitely scheduled yet at your host university, you are advised to choose courses which were offered in the previous year at your host university. These courses are to be found on Blackboard ‘RSM Master Exchange (general information)’ as well as on websites of the partner schools. Conversion proposals may be changed afterwards. However, at all times, a revised conversion has to be re-approved by the Academic Director of your Master and the International Office has to be notified on any changes at all times!
