ERIM Awards 2024

Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) celebrated excellence in research during the prestigious annual Erasmus Research Institute of Management (ERIM) Awards, held at the Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) Woudestein campus. The ERIM Awards highlight the groundbreaking work of researchers from RSM and EUR whose contributions to management and finance work to shape the future of academia and beyond. These awards not only acknowledge individual successes, but they also reinforce ERIM’s dedication to fostering a research community that bridges theory with practice.

Hosted by Inga Hoever, professor in the department of Organisation and Personnel Management and dean of Research at RSM, and Pilar Garcia-Gomez, professor of Applied Economics at the EUR’s Erasmus School of Economics (ESE) and associate director of ERIM, the awards for 2024 spanned multiple categories to recognise exceptional dissertations, impactful journal articles and outstanding performances by researchers.

All awards were presented in turn by Prof. Aukje Hassoldt, dean of RSM; Prof. Patrick Groenen, Dean of ESE; and Prof. Jantine Schuit, rector magnificus of EUR. Here is the list of award winners:

The second recipient, Dr Henk Jan Reinders (EUR, 2023), adjunct professor in the department of Economics at University of Bologna, was awarded for his dissertation Financial Stability in a Changing Environment, which investigates the impact of climate change on financial markets. His work has been published in leading journals and has already received high citations, reflecting its scholarly and practical influence.

Dr Rebecca (Bex) Hewett accepted both awards on behalf of Dr Renault and Dr Reinders.
