Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM) is delighted to announce that associate professor Mirko Benischke has been appointed as RSM dean of engagement, a role he stepped into on 15 May. As the dean of engagement, Dr Benischke plays a central role in the continuous development and maintenance of RSM's engagement function.

One of Dr Benischke’s core tasks as the new dean of engagement is to bridge the gaps between external stakeholders, including corporate partners, with RSM’s internal community of faculty, students and staff. Dr Benischke: “My overall vision is to contribute and accelerate efforts to foster a culture of community engagement that aligns with RSM's mission to be a force for positive change in the world, building on our strengths in research and education.”

Additionally, Dr Benischke oversees the school's engagement function with a keen focus on strategy, content and positioning. His leadership guides the business school in enhancing academic outreach through executive education programmes, thereby fostering faculty engagement activities and spearheading innovative engagement initiatives.

"I will reach out to stakeholders within and outside the school over the next months to learn more about how we can strengthen our engagement function," said Dr Benischke.

RSM is pleased and confident that Dr Benischke will lead RSM in its quest to thrive as a hub for meaningful engagement, and that he will drive impactful connections both within and far beyond the university’s campus.
