We are deeply saddened by the passing away of our founder, inspiring colleague, and wonderful friend, Prof.Dr. Dianne Bevelander.

Dianne’s vision and relentless efforts to advance the position of women in society and business led to her setting up the Erasmus Centre for Women and Organisations (ECWO). A Professor of Management Education at RSM Erasmus University, she served as Founding Executive Director of the centre for many years.

The success of ECWO is an indication of Dianne’s determination that women should move forward in leadership positions for both the sake of women themselves and for the sake of organisations. Dianne led the ECWO team in an inimitably compelling manner. She inspired an ever growing body of professionals with her numerous speeches and workshops, and her unyielding interest in the participants’ struggles and victories.

Dianne recently stepped back from her active role in the Centre after years of battle when her illness progressed to the point where she simply didn’t have the physical stamina to teach and lead the organisation. Even now that she has passed away, she will remain the driving force that she was for us for so many years.

Our thoughts and love go out to Dianne’s family and friends all over the globe.

On behalf of all employees and many stakeholders of the Erasmus Centre for Women and Organisations at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University (RSM),

The ECWO team: Hanneke Takkenberg, Diane Coetzer, Dorothy Grandia and Rianne van Reeuwijk.
