Abstract

The RedPack case is a first-rate real-life example of how business plans can influence a new venture – a most relevant and difficult question for many young firms. The case tells the story of three students following their dreams and turning their class assignment into a real company – RedPack Beach Lockers. The case explains how RedPack began, how their business concepts evolved over time, and highlights the biggest challenges the founders faced. By showing the complete process of venture creation, from the discovery of a business idea to the birth of a new company, and to identify opportunities to grow the company, the case asks whether business planning is important in each stage of venture creation and whether it is recommendable to start-ups given the chaotic, uncertain environment where they evolve.
