Philip joined DSM in 2011 as executive vice-president corporate strategy and acquisitions, responsible for strategy development, improvement programs, and M&A. He became a member of DSM’s Executive Committee in 2015, taking in addition responsibility for the pharmaceuticals (in the meantime divested) and food specialties businesses. In 2020, Philip became responsible for all of DSM’s activities in human nutrition and health and, as part of that, set up the Health, Nutrition & care business and the dedicated F&B business. Since 2022, Philip is responsible in the Executive Committee for the Health, Nutrition & Care business, next to his responsibility for M&A for the Group.
Before joining DSM, Philip was a partner at McKinsey & Company, and the leader of McKinsey’s Chemicals Practice in the Benelux and France.
He is on the supervisory boards of ChemicaInvest, and AnQore. He holds a master in Chemical Engineering from KU Leuven, and in Refinery Engineering from the French Petroleum Institute.
