Godert van der Poel is Head of Assurance at Siemens Energy AG in Munich. He was previously CFO of Siemens Nederland NV, and was responsible for the company’s finances, tax, IT and risk management.
Godert started working for Siemens in 2010, when he was responsible for the global IT audit practice at Siemens Corporate Finance Audit (CFA) based in Munich with hubs in Beijing, New Jersey, Delhi, and Sao Paolo. His responsibilities included Siemens’ Healthcare sector: revenue recognition, healthcare regulatory services, and was responsible for recruiting, staff development, and education within CFA.
Godert also worked at PwC for more than 22 years, 18 of which as a partner, in auditing, risk management and financial services regulatory practice. He studied accountancy and law, followed by non-graduate programmes at Carnegie Mellon University and INSEAD.
